Mole Reduction

The mole is not completely removed from the dermis but its appearance above the skin is visibly reduced. Using high frequency energy the fluid in the mole is dehydrated resulting in a decrease in size and often level with the surface of your skin. As well as being smaller and flatter they often become lighter making them even less noticeable.
Moles are common and, generally, they are benign. They are a form of pigmented naevi that are commonly found on the face and body, varying in size and colour from pale tan to brown to blue/black and often developing deep terminal hairs in them because of a well-developed blood supply. Generally it is best to avoid treating moles, but if yours is causing you severe distress it may be able to be treated with diathermy. You should always consult your GP before mole reduction treatment and written consent is required.

More info Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (also known as DPN) is characterised by small brown or black spots that are on the skin around the cheekbones and eyes. The dark spots may also be found on other areas of the face, neck, chest, and back. Some people with dermatosis papulosa nigra have a few, isolated spots while others have hundreds of spots. The spots may be flat or hang off the skin like a skin tag. The spots are neither cancerous nor medically concerning, but they may be itchy, irritating, or cosmetically undesired.

They are often referred to as ‘moles’ but they are not true moles by definition. This condition occurs most frequently in blacks and dark-skinned Asians, and less frequently in other races. Darker skin types and women are more likely to develop this condition than men. The spots generally appear after puberty and grow in size and number with age. View less

Seborrhoeic Keratosis (Seb K)

This indented centre is characteristic of sebaceous hyperplasia. It has nothing to do with milia or an old spot.
